wow this is the first I have ever heard of doing this free-hand,

sure would make a great photo /  video presentation to the GMCnet



conceivably a plug could be developed by someone,(the car guy", dave,
JimK?) that could slide into the knuckle and guide a hole to be
drilled from the wheel side of the knuckle, from inside the bearing
casing to the outside of the knuckle for  a zerk.  (sounds like a
product for someone out there)

This could be done (like you did) at the next bearing service, and
might possibly be THE LAST TIME  bearing service would require
removing the knuckle, ball joints, steering knuckles, brake lines,
etc,etc, with and the damage created by these operations and the
subsequent realignment.

There are still the issues of knuckle, quality and restoration, which
could be supplied by Dave Lenzi and some others.

I have a spare set of knuckles that is going to get this treatment,
but I sure would like to see someone do the leg work on designing a
fixture that could do this in situ ;>)
