Someone had asked me "what is the difference between Duracool and
HC12a?"

Duracool is a Canadian product and a Canadian trade name. The fellow
that held the US patents on it was having it manufactured in Canada.
Then the company in Canada that made Duracool started selling it in
the USA without paying royalties to the fellow that held the patent in
the USA (Gary Lindgren), So Mr. Lindgren found a company to make it
in the US but labeled his product HC12a (which stands for hydrocarbon
replacement for Freon 12). It is identical in composition to
Duracool (a mixture of refined propane and isobutane) with the only
difference that it is made in the USA instead of Canada.

So, if you buy Duracool you are buying a Canadian product from a
company that stiffed the US patent holder. I no longer buy Duracool
but I buy HC12a which is the same thing chemically.
